Listed below are results from the 2006 Mud, Sweat, and Gears Cyclocross Series.

Don't forget that we introduced Field Points this year!

MSG #1 Results - 10/7/2006

Cool fall weather and a great turnout made for a fantastic first race! Special thanks to all those first-timers and people who traveled a long way to participate. Additionally, this race saw a brand new, never before seen figure-8 course that was fast and technical. If you like chicanes, you excelled in this race. Please note that the results have changed with the addition of many new categories and field points. If you see a typographical error, please email me at eric at msgcross dot com.

Thanks to all who came out this weekend. The series is just getting underway, so there's still plenty of great tasting MSG racing action left.

MSG #2 Results - 10/15/2006

The Tri-Cities Cup brought out lots of new faces from the Tri Cities Road Club and the Northeast Tennessee Mountain Bike Association pushing the number of racers to a record high. The temps are cooling down, and the racing is heating up. Another brand new course with lots of technical sections got rave reviews from the racers. See you all again in two weeks for the first ever MSG Cross Halloween Race.

Don't forget to check out the Overall Points standings as there are some real battles shaping up.

MSG #3 Results - 10/28/2006

If you missed the MSG Halloween Race you missed a real scream! I've never seen so many witches, skunks, hobgoblins, celtic warriors, pilots, surgeons, nurses, mormons, baseball players, football players, motocross riders, hunters, 'bike'-aneers, supermen, spidermen, Robin, the boy wonder, devils, Robin Hoods, cheerleaders, Elvises, and escaped convicts at a cyclocross race. Thank you to all the racers who raced in costume; you truly made this a special race. I'm sure everyone had a favorite costume, so start planning what you'll wear for next year cuz' we're gonna to do this again!

Just a note about the results...they are sorted by Overall Points. The placings/race points/field points should be correct, but you'll notice that some placings are listed out of order because of the extra bonus points. Remember that this race was a double points race and that the 25 bonus points for racing in costume were not doubled. You can find the points structure on the info page. If you see an error, or perhaps you raced in costume and were not credited for it, please don't freak out and hyperventilate. Put a post on the MSG Board and we'll get it figured out.

MSG #4 Results - 11/04/2006

Sunny skies, cold temperatures, and a change of venue to beautiful Steele Creek Park in Bristol, TN hopefully injected some energy into the racers legs because this course was tough! None the less, we had another stellar turnout in the CX4 race, and the sprint between Noah Niwinski and Michael Seek for victory in the CX3 race was easily the closest and most exciting finish of any previous edition of an MSG race. Congratulations to all of today's winners because you all seem to have some good cross' form right now. Be sure to check out the overall Series points because there are some close competitions taking place. The remainder of the series is going to go down at Steele Creek Park.

MSG #5 Results - 11/11/2006

The "Stairway to Heaven" course at Steele Creek Park is always a blast, and this time around proved no exception. We had another great course and another attendance record of 96 riders. Everyone is riding really well right now, and with the slippery mud this past weekend, those technical cross skills came in handy. Another nice thing to see is all of the spectating that is going on. Lots of people ringing cowbells for fellow racers this weekend thanks to Maxxis tires. Sorry about the delay in getting the results posted, and we'll see you at the Hendersonville UCI race this weekend. The finale of the MSG Series is on 12/2 at Steele Creek park and features double points. You won't want to miss the last race!

MSG #6 Results - 12/4/2006

We broke the 100 rider mark! What a fitting end to a record breaking year as more than 100 cross racers toed the start line at Steele Creek Park to race under perfect conditions on a very long and cool course. With double points and the series overall standings on the line, racers put forth their best efforts for the last race of the season. With a cookout and awards ceremony after the CX1/2 race, the 3rd MSG Season was in the books. Thanks to all the volunteers, sponsors, and racers for making this the biggest and best year yet. See ya next year...
