Jeremy Chandler Update
For those of you at the first race this past weekend, you know that Jeremy had a heavy fall in the barriers early in the CX3 race. Read on for an update on his condition.
After a thorough checkup at the hospital, the doctors decided that Jeremy was very lucky. The CT scan of the nose and facial bones showed a deviated septum, which may or may not be new (no way to tell), and of course he had a concussion. There was a deep laceration to the mucosa inside the nose, which is why he was bleeding so much. He also fractured a bone in his wrist. His immediate problems now are that he’s really sore and he can’t eat much because it’s impossible to breathe through his nose with all that swelling, plus he still has quite a bit of blood in his sinuses. He’s still really sore and will need to modify his transportation to and from work for at least a week. He has been riding his bike to the bus stop, taking a bus to campus, and then riding the rest of the way from the 2nd bus stop to work on the UT campus.
If you see Jeremy or know him personally, give him a call to wish him a speedy recovery from all of us at MSG CX. It would also be cool to see people leave “Get Well” messages here on the website since I’m sure he and his family check it out.
